Frequently Asked Questions

Q: How often do I need pest control?

Ans: That depends on 2 factors; your location and level of infestation. If you live in a pest-infested area then you’d need the services of a pest control company at least every 3 months.

Q: Do I need to prepare for pest treatment?

Ans: Yes. However, it depends on what pests are being exterminated. For example; if the pest is indoors then you’d have to leave the property. The pest control company should explain the necessary measures.

Q: What is the cost of pest treatment?

Ans: The depends on the level of infestation and the type of vermin that’s being eliminated. It will cost between 100 to 450 Australian Dollars (inclusive of inspection + treatment). Ask if you may get a quote.

Q: Can I stay on the property while you are treating pests?

Ans: It depends on the type of pest being exterminated, the type of treatment being used and how the treatment is being administered. With roaches, mice and rats, a spray will be used and you shouldn’t be indoors.

Q: Are my pets safe?

Ans: Yes. However, there is no need for you to take chances. Take them out of the premises for an hour or two.

Q: What is the difference between a building and pest inspection and a pest inspection?

Ans: A building & pest inspection is a structural examination of the property to identify issues which could have a significant impact on the property. It does not factor in general wear and tear. A pest inspection, on the other hand, is the examination of a property for signs of timber pests and assessment of any structural damage these pests may have caused.

Q: Why would I need a pest inspection?

Ans: Some pests are hard to detect so there is need for an inspection. If undetected some pests like termites can cause extensive structural damage.

Q: Am I at risk of having termites?

Ans: It depends on whether you live in a termite-infested area or not. If you do then you are at high risk.

Q: What do termites look like?

Ans: They are insects 1/8 inch in size with white, brown or a black shade. A termite has a straight antenna and 2 sets of equal-length wings on their thorax.

Q: What treatments are used for termites?

Ans: Termite treatment includes spot treatment, use of baits, heat treatment & fumigation as well as the use of liquid termiticides like borate.
